Iron Sands

Iron Sands is a puzzle platformer/ mech piloting mini-Metroidvania. You pilot a mech in a lonely desert. Find the scattered pieces of your mech to make it whole.  Collect all of the hidden gears as fast as you can! This game was made for the 2024 GMTK Game Jam. The theme of the jam was "Built to Scale." 

Controls:

W/A/S/D:  Move

Space: Jump

Left Click: 

• Pickup items
• Interact with controls
• Climb ladders

Release Left Click:

• Stop interacting with controls
• Drop from ladder

W/A/S/D (While interacting with controls): Rotate control clockwise/counter-clockwise

Right Click: Stop Mech

Escape: Quit game

Post Jam Update 1:

• Web version now captures the user's mouse properly
• Add reticle to visualize where the player is aiming and whether or not an interactable item is within range
• Air movement has been updated to make falling off of the mech harder while navigating its multiple levels
• Player now properly moves with the ladder they are climbing while the mech is spinning
